June 24, 2026 - Town Beach, Narragansett, RI

It's been a very long time since I have surfed RI.  These days, it's just closer to go to NH.  This was a unique opportunity to get some surfing in before I picked up Laura, Evan and his friend Nate from the TF Green Airport from a trip to Puerto Rico.  I got there a bit late due to a work meeting notifying us of the sale of the company.  I got to the beach at about 7:45, but it was one of the longest days of the year.  Got in the water at about 8 and only surfed for about 45 minutes until it got dark.  It was really nice to surf RI again.  The evening was really nice with the sunset on the land side and air brushed sky on the water side with the moon shinning.  It was about waist high and clean with very low wind.  Water was RI warm and used the RC.  Caught about 56 or 6 waves.  Hung out a bit into the dark and watched the teens run around on the beach.

June 19, 2026 - The Wall, Hampton, NH

Quick decision to go surfing on this Friday morning after some rainy weather the day before.  I left the house at 6:15 and got there just after 7:00 AM.  Had my McTavish for the smallish clean waves, but the NW wind was like 15-20 MPH and really hard to deal with.  The water was fareeeezing with no gloves, but did wear my booties.  Most of my paddling was fighting the wind.  I only got 2 waves, both near the end of my session.  Not that many people out, probably due to the wind.  Mel was heading up to the Wall later with Mr. Lacoste.

May 26, 2026 - Jeness Beach, Rye NH

Suddenly and without warning the surf season started.  It was Memorial Day and everyone left the house to do their own things, so I checked the surf and made an instant decision to go.  Took the RC and stopped at Summer Sessions to buy a pair of 5 mil booties.  Got a pair of Oneils and they are really nice.  Water is 54 degrees and surf was about waist to head high.  Air temp was in the 60's, so it was nice.   There were lot of people in the water, but not many on the beach.  Also wore my ripcurl gloves, so finally got some use out of those.  It was really hard to get into these waves unless you committed last minute.  Some big sets, but a lot of waiting for the right one.  In all, I only got a bout 2 waves.  Crazy, considering it was pretty clean, but just the wind was a little too high from the NW.  Was great to get back in the ocean.  Didn't take any photos, but these are from the cams.

October 3, 2025 - Jenness Beach, Rye, NH

My weekly surf and I've surfed in the same spot for last 3 weeks.  Took most of the day off and went up around mid day.  There is a large storm out at sea producing groundswell.  First checked out the Wall, which looked a bit out of control for me, so I went up to Rye.  It was definitely much smaller at Jenness, but clean and big enough.  The parking restrictions at Sawyers were lifted, but the surf there was really pretty small and no one out.  I parked up at the first beach access point beyond Jenness for free.  There were some good sets and some waiting, but I caught a good amount of rides, Maybe not quite as long and more paddleing.  More paddleing probably because I was using the 8'6: RC and not the 9' McTavish.  Makes a big difference.  Anyways, another good and clean session.  These last 3 sessions kind of morphed together.  Surfed for about an hour.  On my way back I stopped at the Wall and took some pics and videos.  It was much bigger there and a bit out of my league, but I probably could have done it.  Not sure if this is my last session of the year or not.
